Nolan Marshall III
Nolan Marshall III is a civic leader and place-management professional whose work spans public policy, economic development, and community building. After losing his home and small business in Hurricane Katrina, he shifted his career toward public service, going on to hold leadership roles with the Downtown Development District in New Orleans, Uptown Dallas, the New Orleans Business Alliance, and Downtown Vancouver. Now President and CEO of the Social District in Downtown Los Angeles, Nolan brings two decades of experience working across public safety, land use, economic development, civic engagement, and downtown management to the challenge of building places that work better for the people who live, work, and gather there. He also lives in the Social District with his family—giving him the unusual perspective of managing a downtown neighborhood he personally calls home
